Following the many achievements by our fantastic English Department and the school as a whole, the current London Mayor – Sadiq Khan has sent the following message…

Many congratulations to Dagenham Park Church of England School on becoming ‘English team of the year’ in the 2017 TES Awards on 23 June.
I am delighted that you have been recognised for such a prestigious national award. The TES Award is clearly a great accolade for your English department that last year achieved 32% A* or A GCSE grades for its pupils and the progress achieved was in the top 1% of schools in England.
I am pleased that your school has been involved in some of the major Greater London Authority (GLA) education programmes in recent years, particularly the London Schools Excellence Fund, the London Curriculum and the London Schools Gold Club.
I do hope that your school will continue to draw on the education support and resources of City Hall -such as the London Ambitions portal to connect up schools and business; my Getting Ahead London scheme to develop new school leaders; and working towards an award in Healthy Schools London.
Information is on the GLA website at: www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/education-and-youth and www.healthyschools.london.gov.uk/.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for Dagenham Park’s brilliant work with young Londoners. I have no doubt that your English department and whole school team’s enthusiasm for, and excitement about, education will continue to help your students go from success to success.

Mayor of London
